GIM would be floating three MDPs in the month of March, 2016.

03-03-2016 To: 30-03-2016

MDP on “Business Analytics Using R”- 03rd and 04th March, 2016 (Faculty: Dr.Rathish R. Bhatt, Assistant Professor-General Management, GIM).
MDP on “Effective Leadership and Team Building”-05th to 07th March, 2016 (Faculty: Dr.Vartika Dutta, Assistant Professor-OB/HR, GIM).
MDP on “E-Government: The Strategic Advantage”- 29th and 30th March, 2016 (Faculty: Prof VithalSukhanthankar, Associate Professor-Operations/IT, GIM).

 

Kansas University Students Visit

15-12-2015 To: 16-01-2016

During Dec 15 – Jan 16 for a week GIM hosted 17 students and 2 faculty members from Kansas University (KU), US.  KU’s agenda was to enable the students to experience India and to understand the dynamics of doing business in India. 
GIM organised lecture sessions on different topics of interest – ranging from “Understanding the Indian Consumer” to “Tourism Industry in Goa”.  Sessions on the Indian Pharma Industry, Indian Healthcare System, Supply Chain Management Issues in India were also conducted.  Besides the class room lectures, GIM had also organised industry visits for these students to CIPLA, ACGL, Vedanta, Goa Shipyard and Manipal Hospital.  In addition, GIM had organised visits to some of the tourist attractions so that the students could really experience Goa and India. 

Role Band Change Training Programme

06-01-2016 To: 08-01-2016

GIM organised a three days training programme on “Role Band Change” for Goa Shipyard Limited from 06th to 08th January, 2016. Dr. V. Padmanabhan, Dr.Venkatesh Naga and Dr.Vartika Dutta from OB/HR area at GIM facilitated the program. The program basically focused on the issues related to Organizational Diagnosis, Creative Problem Solving, Business Meetings that Work, Conflict Management, Influencing Skills and Negotiation Skills. The program was attended by 25 delegates from the organization.

MDP on Financing Health Care through Health Insurance

07-10-2015 To: 09-10-2015

GIM had floated a MDP on Financing Health Care through Health Insurance during 07th -09th October, 2015. Prof.Arif Raza was the faculty coordinator for the MDP. The MDP was facilitated under the able guidance of  GautamChakraborty-Public Health Economist, Population Foundation of India, Henna Dhawan- Technical Expert with Social Security Programme of German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in India, Dr.AdeshChaturvedi, Associate Professor (HCM), GIMand Prof.Arif Raza, Assistant Professor (HCM), GIM. The MDP was attended by 17 delegates across various fields of health care sector.

Business Analytics Using R

In a competitive world with abundance of data availability, it becomes imperative for decision makers to master data driven decision making. This field is fast evolving with new techniques and applications emerging from academia and practitioners. Mastering the statistical tools and techniques along with the application software can help in data driven decision making. Over the last decade, R programming language has become one of the most used tool for data science. The MDP involves instruction through statistical package R and would cover concepts of quantitative techniques, data visualisation and analysing and interpreting data.
